Homelessness Prevention Fund
$1 Million and 100% of our goal!
$1.16 Million and 116% of our goal!
A huge thank you to our community for going above and beyond!
One year ago, we set out to raise $1 million to prevent homelessness. We knew we had to do something big to help stop the homelessness crisis and then COVID hit. That’s when something remarkable started to happen—people from all walks of life began giving to our Homelessness Prevention Fund.
A community’s spirit is amplified during moments of crisis. Our strengths become more salient as our deeply-rooted systemic problems escalate. These moments challenge each of us to look inward and to act outward in support of our neighbors, to recognize our community’s strength and our own inherent ability to Make An Impact.
It’s clear to us that people want to help, to really and truly make a difference in their community. Thousands of individuals are doing what they can with what they have to make an impact at a time it’s needed most.
Two Portlanders really stand out – Zach and Nichole are among the thousands that faced unemployment during the pandemic. One of their employers underwent a massive layoff. Feeling gratitude for their position and resources, they wanted to give back. Zach and Nichole generously donated their unemployment funds to Impact NW so that others facing the devastating effects of the pandemic could access support. Their support helped us raise over $1 million to prevent homelessness.
Nichole and Zach say “Impact NW’s mission has never been more important and we appreciate all of the hard work the organization puts into our Portland community. It’s great to see local money stay local and support our neighbors.”
We hope that their generosity inspires us all!
