Press Release: Impact NW announces 2021 I AM Impact, an important virtual event to prevent homelessness

The free online event will feature the personal story of an Impact NW program participant, guest appearances from Senator Ron Wyden and Representative Khanh Pham and the unveiling of a community art project.

PORTLAND, Ore., May 24, 2021 – This week, 影响NW is hosting its annual I AM Impact event on Thursday, May 27 at 5:30pm, as the Portland nonprofit’s most prominent celebration and fundraiser of the year. The free, online event is only scheduled to last an hour, but it’s jam- packed with powerful content, including guest appearances from Senator Ron Wyden and Representative Khanh Pham, and the unveiling of a community art project created by the Impact NW Ambassador Board. Most importantly, attendees will have the chance to hear from Amanda, a program participant of Impact NW, as she tells her story about the pivotal role Impact NW has played in her life. All proceeds raised from the I AM Impact event will go directly towards Impact NW, and the organization’s vital mission of preventing homelessness in the Portland-Vancouver area.

“Taking into account factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and a continued lack of low income housing, this past year has been incredibly difficult for many in our community,” says Impact NW Executive Director, Andy Nelson. “Impact NW takes a very intimate and high-touch approach to preventing homelessness, partnering with people to help them navigate their personal journey towards stability and opportunity. These efforts require time and resources, and events such as I AM Impact are so important for us to celebrate our wins and gather as a community as we look towards the year to come.”

In order to raise the funds needed to support Impact NW’s ambitious plans for 2021 and 2022, the nonprofit is aiming to raise at least $150,000 through I AM Impact. This will only be accomplished through community support, as well as the support of the event’s sponsors, including Bank of America as the I AM Impact presenting sponsor. Donation tiers for the event include $100 to provide half a dozen rides for homebound seniors to and from their medical appointments up to $5,000 to stabilize four families, providing them with the resources necessary for remaining strong and stable in their own homes.

To sign up to attend the free I AM Impact event this Thursday May 27th at 5:30pm, register 这里. More event information can also be found at impactnw.org/events/i-am-impact/. Those interested in subscribing to Impact NW’s email list can also do so 这里.
