These playgroups take place at the Brentwood-Darlington Community Center, local apartment complexes, and other locations across SE Portland.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to share that we offer services in English,Spanish, Chinese,Ukrainian and Russian to better support our diverse community.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, families benefit from free home visits, immunization checks, and developmental screenings to ensure children are happy and healthy. However, her journey into the world of supporting families didn\u2019t begin there.<\/p>\n<p>Yanting was first introduced to the field through a desire to expand her skills and knowledge. During the pandemic, she took the opportunity to return to school through online classes, where she deepened her understanding of parenting and child development. Though she wasn\u2019t new to the world of parenthood, her education, combined with her hands-on experiences and work-related training, allowed her to provide even more support to families during home visits.<\/p>\n<p>Yanting had always known the importance of continuous learning, and she quickly realized that furthering her education would enhance her ability to help others. \u201cI wanted to increase my knowledge and abilities, both personally and professionally, and the online classes I took supported my understanding of parenting and child development,\u201d she said. \u201cThe combination of education, training, and lived experience has allowed me to truly connect with the families I serve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>What encouraged you to further your education, and how has that enhanced your ability to support families?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My decision to return to school during the pandemic was driven by my desire to expand my knowledge and enhance my skills.
