Volunteer Application Process

  • Initial Interest & Application

Potential volunteers indicate their interest in volunteering by contacting volunteer@impactnw.org. The Community Involvement Manager contacts the volunteer to determine the best site placement and shares the agency volunteer application.

  • Background & Reference Check

Upon completion and submission of the volunteer application, the Community Involvement Manager conducts a background check for the volunteer. Some positions may also require a driving record check and/or fingerprinting.

  • Placement

Potential volunteers participate in an interview with their program supervisor. After the interview, if both the potential supervisor and the volunteer feel the position is a good fit, a tentative work schedule is determined for the volunteer.

  • Orientation & Training

All volunteers receive training for their specific assignment as administered by their immediate supervisor.

  • Ongoing Supervision

Ongoing supervision is provided to the volunteer by their immediate supervisor.
