After Hurricane Katrina, Brenda lost everything. She found her way to Portland to work in nursing but lost her job due to a disability. Without an income or other support, Brenda ended up on the streets for many years. That is when she found Impact NW.<\/p>\n

Knowing that Brenda had lost so much, Impact NW staff worked hard to build a good relationship with Brenda. Brenda\u2019s case manager, Alisha, connected her to basic needs and then, despite the odds, permanent housing. Today, Brenda is pursuing her interests and a future for herself.<\/p>\n
