Senior Guardianship Assistance Program

As our population ages, some seniors are increasingly at risk because they are no longer capable of managing their own finances or making their own decisions.

Seniors at Multicultural Services Center

Impact NW’s Senior Guardianship Assistance Program (Senior GAP) has been serving the community by providing court appointment protection of vulnerable seniors since 2004.

Senior GAP is staffed with nationally certified guardians who act as court appointed guardians and conservators. This program is a fee-for-service program and serves those vulnerable persons in both Washington and Multnomah counties.

A referral is required which can come from another social service agency, a bank, a family member, or other involved person who is concerned about a senior’s safety and well-being or financial exploitation.

Senior GAP also assists in acting as Power of Attorney, Personal Representative of the Estate, Trustee of various types, and Health Care Representative. These roles are considered pre-planning tools and an individual can self-refer and Senior GAP will be happy to meet with you to discuss if this is a good option for you in planning ahead.

To inquire about our services, please contact the Senior GAP office at: 503-294-7445.

Impact NW’s Senior Services Programs support the health and independence of vulnerable seniors, helping them remain in their own homes, surrounded by the communities with which they are familiar.

Annually, Senior GAP ensures the independence of nearly 150 vulnerable clients while protecting them from financial abuse, neglect or eviction.
