Seniors & Adults with Disabilities

Seniors and individuals living with disabilities thrive when they are able to remain in their own homes, surrounded by a community of friends and family

1,500

individuals are supported by Impact NW’s Seniors & Adults with Disabilities Services programs each year.

14,000

rides are provided to clients who need help getting to medical appointments or performing errands.

50

events per year are organized for participants of Club Impact, a social club for young adults with disabilities.

Seniors at our Multicultural Service Center participate in weekly Tai Chi classes.

Impact NW’s programs take a holistic view of healthy aging, addressing each client’s physical, mental and emotional well-being.  We are committed to helping our region’s most vulnerable seniors and adults with disabilities access resources that enable them to remain in their homes successfully, while still being able to participate in the community in which they live.

There are many ways we engage with seniors and adults with disabilities:

  • Our “Friendly Visitors” program connects community volunteers with isolated seniors through weekly visits to provide companionship and support.
  • Our Senior Guardian Assistance Program (“Senior GAP”) offers money management services for seniors who are otherwise self-sufficient but struggle to manage their own financial affairs.
  • Congregate Housing Services meets the needs of seniors and adults with disabilities living in public housing through in-home care coordination, transportation to shopping and medical appointments, money management and legal services, and on-site meal services.
  • Our Transportation Services provide more than 14,000 rides to clients who need help getting to medical appointments or performing errands.
  • Our Southeast Multicultural Senior Center is a hub of activity where seniors gather for meals, games, celebrations and friendship.
