SAND IN THE CITY

Yoshida’s Sand in the City
Friday, July 20 – Saturday, July 21 – & Sunday, July 22, 2012

at Pioneer Courthouse Square

Come to the beach in downtown Portland! In just six hours, teams transform over 450 tons of sand and 4,500 gallons of water into magnificent sand sculptures! In it’s 17th year, this annual event brings the community together in a variety of ways while raising awareness around the importance of  early childhood education and promoting our Kids on the Block awareness program.

Enjoy entertainment, food, children’s activities, contests and much more in Portland’s Living Room – Pioneer Courthouse Square.

2012 Sand in the City Schedule:

Friday, July 20th – Sand Sculpting competition, awards ceremony, Sand & Community Team celebration

Saturday, July 21st – Come view the winners of the Sand Sculpting competition! Bring the whole family and enjoy the Kids Zone, plus lots of great entertainment going on all day.

Sunday, July 22nd - This is your last chance to check out the sand sculptures before they are demolished in as grand a display as that in which they were created. The Kids Zone will be also be open – it’s a great way to wrap up the weekend!
